Rumba Havana Salsa has been teaching salsa in Peterborough over the last 14 years the original Cuban way!  We have also been holding Salsa classes in Wisbech since July 2009 have run several previous very successful courses. Each year, we are becoming more and more experienced and our class numbers are rising, which is why we currently hold 4 classes each week across the local area.

Our professional dance instructors are very experienced and hold international qualifications recognized throughout the world.  We are able to teach all types of Latin American Cuban dances, specialising in Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Son, Mambo and much more, which are performed all around the world, and will give you a good knowledge of these dances which will give you the confidence to attend any of the Cuban Salsa Congresses.

We have worked in conjunction with Peterborough City Council in putting on performances and classes in Cathedral Square, which proved to be very popular.  We also performed at the Peterborough Music Festival held in June 2008 at the Peterborough Festival of Dance for the past tree years.

Rumba Havana Salsa held a 10th Anniversary salsa party to celebrate 10 years of Salsa in Peterborough in 2006. You may have heard the party advertised on Lite FM radio station and featured on Anglia News. It was attended by dancers from all over the UK and was one of the most successful salsa parties held in the City over the last 10 years. We will be holding further parties and events in the near future, the next being in Oct 2011.

We have designed the above intensive course for beginners for a period of 7 weeks which will be taught by Juan Carlos Pacheco. Juan Carlos is a professional Cuban dancer and choreographer and has performed all over the world.  He will teach you salsa the only way it should be taught, the original Cuban way!

The price of this course will be
£30 , (7 classes for the price of 6), which includes (on the final week), a salsa dance demonstration to show you just what you can achieve. If you attend the course, this will entitle you to a 50% discount off the price of the ticket for our next Salsa party.

The course consists of four parts:

The first part, consists of classes 1-2 where we will be teaching the true technical and main steps which you must learn in order to be able to  move and co-ordinate your feet to the correct timing of the music, as well as movements in all directions. We will also teach the correct way to hold your partner, at the same time as an introduction to basic turns.

The second part, consists of classes 3 where we will continue to perfect what was learned in the first part plus we will show you how to  co-ordinate your feet, hand and body movement at the same time as introducing small sequences of turns. Throughout this two week period sequences shown will increase in length and difficulty.

The third part consists of classes 4-5. Here we will introduce you to some of the other Latin dances such as Cha Cha Cha, Bachata, and Merengue

Part four, class 6-7 . Here we will recap on all steps and movements learnt over the last 6 weeks

You have now reached the end of the course, and most of you should consider yourselves at an Improver level. Should you be unsure at which level you should join our regular classes, please ask your teacher.

As previously stated, we guarantee you will be taught by teachers with many years experience and professional qualifications, whose overall knowledge will enable you to learn to dance even if you think you have two left feet!

Thank you very much for attending our course and we hope you had as much fun learning to dance as we had teaching you! We look forward to seeing you at our regular weekly classes where you can continue to learn and develop your dancing skills and most importantly, have fun
